The Exboys UK Association is pleased to introduce our distinguished panel of experts for the upcoming mental health seminar taking place on Saturday, 21 June 2025, online via Zoom. Each panelist brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from their unique professional backgrounds, united in their commitment to advancing mental health awareness and supporting men’s well-being.

Dr.  Teslim  Bukoye — Moderator

Dr. Teslim Oyegoke Bukoye is an Associate Professor of Management (Information, Decisions & Operations) at the University of Bath and serves as the institution’s Race and Equality Charter Lead. A proud alumnus of the Nigerian Military School (NMS), he brings both personal experience and professional expertise to this seminar.

He holds prestigious fellowships including Fellow of the Association of Project Management (FAPM) and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT)—demonstrating a rare blend of academic distinction and professional accreditation.

In his multifaceted role, Dr.  Bukoye:

  • Leads strategic governance as an elected member of University Council, Senate, and Court, championing best practice and inclusive policies .
  • Oversees the Director of International Exchanges, coordinating impactful student placements and academic collaborations across Australia, Asia, Europe, and North America
  • Is an engaged researcher with over 38 publications in areas such as behavioural project management, agile systems, supply chain resilience, sustainability, and pedagogical innovation.
  • Acts as Associate Editor for the Journal of African Business, journal reviewer for top-tier publications (e.g., International Journal of Project Management, Public Management Review), and an ESRC grant reviewer.
  • Has developed pioneering educational practices—including apprenticeships, capstone modules, and ReadCycle Bath, a global book-donation initiative aimed at distributing thousands of textbooks across African universities.

Dr.  Bukoye’s combination of academic leadership, equity-driven governance, industry collaboration, and impactful community outreach makes him the ideal moderator for this seminar. As a mentor, educator, and advocate, he ensures a rich, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment—equipping our audience with knowledge, empathy, and actionable insight.

Dr.  Patrick Okolo, CEng, MIEI, PhD

Dr.  Patrick Okolo is the Founder and Director of Thermal-Flow Consultants Ltd, a UK-based engineering consultancy specialising in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and thermal systems. He was a senior consultant at B‑Fluid Ltd, where he leads on aerospace, built environment, and fire-safety modelling, delivering high-impact design and simulation solutions.

Dr.  Okolo holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, is a Chartered Engineer registered in Ireland (CEng), a Member of Engineers Ireland (MIEI), and a Member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

He combines academic rigour with practical expertise, specialising in CFD modelling for fire safety, urban microclimates, HVAC design, and AeroAcoustics. His published work includes studies on landing-gear noise reduction, planar jet control, and mesh-screen applications in high-impact thermal and fluid domains.

As a part-time academic lecturer at Oxford Brookes University, Dr.  Okolo supervises postgraduate research and delivers advanced lectures on fluid mechanics and thermal systems.

Beyond engineering, Dr.  Okolo is a certified Mental Health First Aider (MHFA England) and integrates this qualification into his leadership and consultancy roles. In our seminar, he will explore:

  • The influence of MHFA training in supporting team wellbeing across technical environments.
  • Leadership approaches that foster psychologically safe workspaces for both junior and senior staff.
  • Early detection and management of stress and burnout within technical and operational teams.
  • Real-world lessons from managing high-stakes engineering projects with mental wellness as a priority.

In Dr.  Okolo’s words, he is “humbled to contribute amongst the panel” and is keen to engage in a thoughtful, collaborative discussion that bridges technical leadership and mental health awareness.

Nicola Tenyue, BSc, PgDip

Nicola Tenyue is a highly experienced Senior Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with over a decade of clinical practice within the NHS. She holds a BSc in Psychology and Counselling from the University of Greenwich and a Postgraduate Diploma in High-Intensity CBT from Royal Holloway, University of London, with additional specialist training from UCL and the Anna Freud Centre.

As the Founder and CEO of DevelopingME, Nicola is committed to breaking down stigma and delivering practical, empowering mental health support to adults and young people—particularly within marginalised and Black communities. Her clinical expertise spans the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, and low self-esteem, using evidence-based approaches rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Nicola is also a certified Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) instructor, trained to facilitate workshops that build emotional resilience among young people in schools and community settings. In addition, she delivers talks and training sessions on emotional wellbeing, self-confidence, anxiety management, and mental health.

Her ability to communicate complex mental health issues in a fun, relatable, and culturally sensitive way makes her a powerful voice in advocacy and education. Through her work, Nicola empowers individuals to become emotionally stronger and more self-aware, making her an invaluable contributor to this important seminar on mental health.

Emmanuel Anidi

Emmanuel Anidi is a passionate mental health advocate and a prominent member of the Exboys UK community. He currently serves as the Chairman of the NMS95 Exboys Association and also holds the role of PRO and Social Secretary for Exboys UK, where he plays a key part in supporting the emotional and social wellbeing of members across generations.

With a deep sense of responsibility and empathy, Emmanuel brings a unique and valuable perspective to the mental health conversation—one grounded in lived experience, peer leadership, and community mobilisation. He has been instrumental in championing mental health awareness within the alumni network and helping to de-stigmatise conversations about emotional wellbeing among African men and professionals.

In this seminar, Emmanuel will share his personal journey with mental health, reflecting on the real challenges and lessons that shaped his growth and resilience. His voice represents many others navigating emotional burdens silently and seeking strength through community, brotherhood, and open dialogue.

Emmanuel’s contribution is a vital reminder that mental health conversations are not limited to professionals alone—they belong to everyday people with real stories, real struggles, and real breakthroughs. His honesty, relatability, and leadership will serve to inspire and empower others to reflect, reach out, and prioritise their own mental wellbeing.

Dr.  Sosunmolu Shoyinka, MD, MBA

Dr . Sosunmolu Shoyinka is a nationally acclaimed psychiatrist, health policy leader, and advocate for mental health equity. He serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania and is a Fellow of the Philadelphia College of Physicians.

From 2019 to 2022, Dr.  Shoyinka led Philadelphia’s public mental health system as Chief Medical Officer for the Department of Behavioural Health and Intellectual disability Services (DBHIDS). There, he spearheaded a comprehensive redesign of the city’s crisis response infrastructure and directed the launch of the national 988 mental health hotline, a project recognised by the Biden Administration in July 2022.

He co‑founded Centia Health LLC, a telepsychiatry and primary care provider serving rural communities across Pennsylvania, Kansas, and Michigan. Dr . Shoyinka also created the SMART antiracism assessment tool to help organisations implement anti-racist policies, and he drove population‑level integration of behavioural pharmacy management—achieving over $10 million in savings in Missouri.

Educated at the University of Ibadan (MD, 1999) and Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business (MBA, 2017), he completed postgraduate training at Yale, Columbia, and NYU, and holds triple board certifications in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine.

Dr.  Shoyinka’s distinguished recognitions include:

  • Special Presidential Commendation Award and Jeanne Spurlock Minority Fellowship Achievement Award from the American Psychiatric Association .
  • Named a leading Black voice shaping the future of psychiatry by the Scattergood Foundation.
  • Invited to testify before the U.S. Congress in November 2023 on preserving mental health access.

Dr.  Shoyinka is a seasoned author and public speaker—he penned Understanding Mental Health: A Guide for Faith Communities, and regularly presents at national and state-level conferences.

As a proud alumnus of the Nigerian Military School (NMS), Dr.  Shoyinka brings a deeply personal perspective to this seminar. Having journeyed through the same formative system as many of the Exboys community, he understands firsthand the cultural, emotional, and psychological frameworks that shape young men in such structured environments. Now a seasoned mental health leader and policy expert in the United States, he bridges lived experience with professional insight—offering a rare and powerful lens into how early environments influence adult wellbeing, resilience, and the importance of tailored support for men from similar backgrounds
